All about a new identity

9 February 2010

This new agency has come about because of the need to expand the remit of the highly successful audience development organisation Arts About Manchester to cover the wider Northwest area.

Arts About Manchester has been delivering arts marketing and audience development services for over 20 year, collaborating with arts, culture and heritage organisations across Greater Manchester to help them understand and grow their audiences. The agency's national reputation in its field has led to the expansion of its remit to cover Lancashire, Cheshire, Merseyside and Cumbria.

Hemisphere's brief was to devise a new identity that would signify the organisation's change of focus but still maintain the brand equity of Arts About Manchester. The new identity will be applied across a suite of new corporate and promotional materials.

Hemisphere director, Sue Vanden, comments, "We wanted to acknowledge Arts About Manchester's roots whilst at the same time giving it a fresh new look – the heritage of the new name and identity had to be obvious to those that knew the organisation previously but still make a positive impact for those new to its services. The new name has an 'aural' recognition factor, having the same rhythm to its syllables as well as creating a flexible device for communicating what the agency is 'all about', such as knowledge, networking, collaboration and engagement etc."
